This week I also visited Tesco in Castlegate, Dudley, to talk to staff about National Supermarket Employee Day, which took place on the 22nd February.

This week it was also a pleasure to return to the Beacon Centre for the Blind in Sedgley.

The CEO Lisa Cowley and the team clearly work incredibly hard, and I can see what a real asset the centre has become.

I thank Bramford Primary School for inviting me to their Founders’ Day assembly to celebrate the school being part of The Griffins School Trust.

All of the students were full of energy and I could see some of them had the passion to serve the community in the future.

It was great this week to pop by and meet the team at Dudley Judo Club in Gornal

They’re doing a fantastic job at spreading the benefits of martial arts and I look forward to working with them to help secure the club’s future.

I was shocked - and more than a bit surprised - to read a newspaper article that named The Clifton in Sedgley as the worst Wetherspoons in the country.

The demolition of the Crooked House shook our community here in Dudley and across the Black Country, so it’s fantastic news that an enforcement notice has been served on the owners for demolition without consent.

Also on the topic of the Crooked House, a number of residents have been expressing concern regarding the abandoned landfill operated by Himley Environmental Ltd - a site near the Crooked House.

I called on the Chancellor Jeremy Hunt to consider increasing the Draught Relief in his Budget in March.

Draught Relief reduces the tax burden on draught alcoholic products sold in on-trade venues, such as pubs.

I visited another local pub this week - the Fountain Inn. Michael - who recently took over the running of the pub - was a fantastic host.
