Backing the Pet Abduction Bill

I am pleased to back this bill, which has now made it through it's second reading in Parliament.

Cats and dogs are not inanimate objects but sentient beings capable of experiencing distress and other emotional trauma when they are stolen from their owners or keepers.

Successfully reported blocked gully

This week I personally reported a blocked gully on Hillside Rd to the Dudley Council Highways Team.

They attended the site and unfortunately, due to the type of rubbish inside the gully, they had to clear the blockage using their hands. 

Castle Meadows Nursing Home - the continuing blight

On the 6th January, the emergency services were called to Castle Meadows Nursing Home to deal with a fire. Luckily, no-one was injured.

Yet another case of poor management by the owners of the site has left us wondering, once again, if action could have been taken sooner.

Help me make a stand against HMO's in Dudley

I am teaming up with Your Gornal Councillors to strongly oppose a planning application. It is for a 12 bed HMO on Holloway St, Gornal.

As your local representatives, we strongly oppose heritage buildings being turned into housing, especially for Houses of Multiple Occupancy (HMOs).

Heritage Pub Revived in Sedgley

With so many heritage pubs closing down across the country - never to reopen - I thought it of upmost importance to share a success story here in Sedgley.

The delights of Christmas in Concord Market, Sedgley

One of my favourite visits, just before Christmas day, was to Concord Market in Sedgley.

The friendly, vibrant community made for a welcoming and delightful trip.

I was warmly welcomed into a lovely Greek cafe - It's All Greek To Me - by Mary Valkani.
